- _v_l_a_n__c_m_d provides video equipment control over the Video Local Area
- Network (VLAN). Using this program, VLAN commands can be issued to
- control videotape deck motion, videotape editing, and many other VLAN
- operations. If a VLAN ccccmmmmdddd is specified and ----iiii is not, the command is
- sent over the VLAN to the target video device node; the response, if any,
- is printed, followed by OK, and the program exits. Refer to the _V_L_A_N
- _T_e_c_h_n_i_c_a_l _R_e_f_e_r_e_n_c_e _M_a_n_u_a_l for a listing of valid VLAN commands.
-
- If the ----iiii option is specified, _v_l_a_n__c_m_d runs in interactive mode. In
- this mode, the program prompts for VLAN commands, prints the response, if
- any, followed by OK, and prompts for the next command. To exit the
- program, enter qqqq at the command prompt.
-
- If -_s is specified the VLAN transmitter connected to the serial port
- device file specified by _s_e_r_i_a_l__d_e_v will be used. If the -_s flag is not
- specified, the default serial port file, /dev/ttyd2 (port 2), will be
- used.
